Plastic surgery in Istanbul - plan and support

I help prepare for plastic surgery in Istanbul without rushing: collect photos and documents, receive a preliminary surgeon opinion, understand limits, estimate, and recovery timing before travel.

Plastic surgery abroad should not start with choosing a date. It should start with an honest conversation about the goal, limits, and recovery. The patient needs to understand what can be discussed from photos, what can be decided only after an in-person examination, and how much time should be left for control visits.

I help make this route calmer: collect photos and documents, send them to the right surgeon, receive a preliminary opinion, review the plan, and organize the trip to Istanbul. On this page I explain how I usually build the patient’s route and which part I take on.

A clear procedure plan

In plastic surgery, it is important to separate the patient’s wish from a medically possible plan. A person may come with an example photo or a broad phrase such as “I want to change my nose”, “I want a facelift”, or “I want to restore breast shape”. For the surgeon, this is only the start of the conversation. The doctor assesses anatomy, tissue condition, previous surgery, general health, expectations, and readiness for recovery.

A useful preliminary plan does not promise the same result for every patient. It shows which procedure may be discussed, which limits are visible in advance, where in-person diagnostics are needed, and what recovery time should be allowed. I help receive this plan before tickets are bought, so the trip is not built on an advertising image or another person’s photo.

For an international patient in Istanbul, the surgeon and operating room are not the only important parts. The patient also needs clear dates, consultation translation, a written estimate, control visits, contact with the clinic after discharge, and calm practical logistics. These details do not make the operation medically simpler, but they help the patient make decisions without rushing.

Which operations may be discussed

Plastic surgery requests often involve the face, breast, and body. This may include rhinoplasty, blepharoplasty, facelift, breast surgery, abdominoplasty, body contouring, or correction after major weight loss. Sometimes an aesthetic question is connected with function. For example, a patient may need to discuss breathing as well as the shape of the nose.

I describe methods only in general terms because the scope of surgery is chosen by the surgeon after consultation. Even the same named procedure can be performed differently. Surgical access, operation time, anesthesia, hospital room, and follow-up after discharge may all differ. The patient needs to know not only the operation name, but also what happens before and after it.

Non-surgical aesthetic procedures may be discussed separately if the clinic offers them as part of the route. I do not mix them with surgery unless the doctor explains why they belong in the same plan. Sometimes a patient wants to “do everything at once”, while the surgeon explains that some steps should be separated in time. That boundary is important for safety and realistic recovery.

How I build the clinical route

I start with the question: what exactly does the person want to change and why now. In plastic surgery, this is not a formality. If expectations are vague or based only on someone else’s example, the consultation may end in disappointment. Before sending the request to the doctor, I clarify which area worries the patient, whether there was previous surgery, whether there are chronic conditions, which medicines are used, and whether the patient can leave enough time for recovery.

Then I send the materials to the surgeon or the clinic’s international department. I look at the surgeon’s profile for the needed area, readiness to comment on photos, clarity of the estimate, operating room and hospital conditions, and follow-up after surgery. Simple questions matter: who exactly performs the operation, where it takes place, how the clinic explains risks, and who answers questions after discharge.

If the doctor sees limits, I ask for them to be explained in plain language. They may be related to skin condition, scars from previous surgery, lack of tissue, increased risk from combining procedures, or a trip that is too short. Such an answer may be less pleasant than a fast promise, but it is more useful for the patient.

Patient route

A typical plastic surgery route looks like this:

  1. First message and photos - you write which procedure you are considering and send photos in the needed angles. I check whether the data is enough for the first request and clarify medical and organizational details.

  2. Preliminary surgeon opinion - I send the materials to the doctor. The surgeon reviews whether the chosen procedure may be discussed, which limits are visible before examination, and which questions must be answered in person.

  3. Expectation and plan review - I help understand what is already clear from photos and what cannot be promised before an in-person consultation. If the surgeon suggests another scope or advises against combining procedures, I explain the organizational meaning of that decision.

  4. Estimate and travel dates - after the preliminary answer, the clinic gives an approximate cost and timing. I clarify what is included: consultation, tests, operation, anesthesia, hospitalization, compression garments, dressings, and control visits.

  5. Arrival in Istanbul - I organize transfer, help with a hotel near the clinic, and accompany the patient to the in-person consultation. During the appointment, expectations, risks, recovery, and consent should be discussed again before payment and signatures.

  6. Operation and first days after it - I coordinate the schedule, translate clinic messages, help with practical questions, and organize control visits. If the clinic prescribes dressings or a nurse visit at the hotel, I clarify the time and conditions.

  7. Return home and contact with the doctor - before the flight, the patient receives recommendations, documents, and contact rules for questions. If follow-up questions arise after return, I help pass them to the clinic.

Sometimes the route is short: consultation, operation, one or two control visits, and departure. Sometimes it is longer: preparation, additional tests, another consultation, or a calmer observation period. I do not promise the same timing for everyone because plastic surgery depends on the specific operation and the patient’s condition.

What my coordination includes

For plastic surgery, I take on organizational details that are difficult to manage in another country:

  • initial review of the request, photos, and medical limits;
  • photo instructions for preliminary surgeon review;
  • sending materials to the doctor and receiving a preliminary opinion;
  • reviewing the estimate, timing, and hospitalization conditions before travel;
  • coordinating consultation, tests, surgery, and control visits;
  • medical interpretation during consultations and help with questions to the surgeon;
  • transfer, hotel, phone connection, practical tasks, and orientation in Istanbul;
  • coordination of dressings or nurse visits if prescribed by the clinic;
  • contact with the clinic after return for follow-up questions.

My task is to make sure the patient understands the route before the operation, not only the date and price. I do not choose nose shape, implant size, or the extent of surgery instead of the doctor. I help prepare the conversation, so the surgeon hears the patient’s expectations and the patient understands medical limits and the real order of steps.

How much it costs

The price depends on the operation and its scope. The estimate may include tests, anesthesia, hospital room, dressings, garments, and control visits. Even similar requests may differ in price if patients have different starting points or if the surgeon proposes a different scope.

The exact cost is determined after consultation and confirmation of the plan by the doctor. Before travel, the clinic may give a preliminary estimate based on photos and a questionnaire, but it does not replace an in-person examination. All payments are made directly to the clinic cashier under the clinic’s official invoice. I do not take part in financial transactions. The clinic pays my coordination commission, so the price for the patient is the same as with a direct request.

I also help account for expenses outside the clinic: flight, hotel, transfer, meals, phone connection, and extra days in Istanbul if the doctor asks the patient to stay longer. If a relative travels with the patient, those expenses should be planned in advance too.

How long the trip takes

Timing depends on the operation and recovery. For smaller procedures, several days may be enough if the doctor allows flying after a control examination. For operations on the face, breast, abdomen, or body, more time is usually needed. The trip includes consultation, tests, operation day, first dressings, and a check before departure. Patients often stay in Istanbul for about 5 to 10 days, but after larger procedures the doctor may recommend a longer period.

I clarify in advance when the first examination is possible, how many days are needed after surgery, and which limits apply to flying, showering, activity, compression garments, and sleep. This helps avoid buying the return ticket too early.

How it starts

The first step is to write to me on WhatsApp with the operation you are considering and what you want to change. If there were previous operations, chronic conditions, allergies, test results, or medical reports, mention this briefly. A full archive is not needed for the first message.

I will send photo instructions, ask clarifying questions, and pass the materials to the surgeon for a preliminary opinion. After the reply, it will be clearer whether travel makes sense, how much time to allow, and which questions should be discussed during the in-person consultation.
